Pin trading is huge at Odyssey of the Mind. It's a tradition that goes back more than 20 years. Millions of pins have been traded and thousands of friendships have probably been made during those trades! I don't think anyone thought that pin - trading would become as widespread and popular as it is today!
Did you know that there will be participants from other countries there? (Not to mention from almost every state in the USA.)
Argentina, Australia, Belarus, British Columbia, China, Czech Republic, Dodds Europe, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Japan, Kazachstan, Lithuania, Mexico, Moldova, Ontario, Phillipines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, United Kingdom and Uzbekistan.
Each region, and each country has their own specific trading pins, we give our kids each $100 worth of pins to trade with and each pin is usually $1.00, 2.50 or at the very most $5.00. So you can see, they are very reasonably priced. It's not a money maker, it's a memory maker!
NOW, can you imagine, it is all children...Creative, wonderful children! Who get to interact with each other by trading pins...Who cares, if they can't speak the language! Pin trading must have an international language of its own. They will point, smile, nod or shake their head. It will be an experience for every one of them for a lifetime!
