Hello Mexico!
These are only a few pics, every corner you turned there was someone from another country, all there for the same reason!

It was great to hear kids, over and over, ask..."Hey where are YOU from??"

more pictures!

There were so many interesting twists on some of the problems! These kids won the chance at seeing so many different things and ideas on one problem. I do believe this will change them in their way of thinking, I know on my own son, it made an impact! He came back with ideas of college and future Ootm projects whirring in his head! After seeing the Division III teams compete, he knows for a fact that Ootm will be apart of his High School life and already has plans for competing in College level, Division IV...After all he states...Ootm, gives SCHOLARSHIPS!!!! (the magic word for a single mom:)

I wish I could have captured the entire adventure on more than just film. It was so much more! The best is to someday try to experience Ootm for yourself! Next year, make it a point, if you have not, to visit regionals or states if you can! Or better yet, take a short ride to Maryland next year, even for just a day or two. I know, easier said than done!!

Some of these photos are of Division IV teams, Tag em'. They actually had a crane to hoist the bird up above, it was quite amazing!!

An article that will be featured tomorrow in the Journal!

Skaneateles Journal wrote a very nice piece on both Ootm teams!

Dorm room tales

Just in case you were wondering what goes on in dorm rooms...

Poland team presenting!

We will be hosting the Poland team division I tag em' in Skaneateles after World's .
These kids were jet lagged and having a tough time with the language, but let me tell you, they are little troopers.
Imagine being in another country with a language that is not yours and having to present a problem in that language and keep your cool.
They finished their problem and had their head held high!! It was wonderful watching them! I give them so much credit!
We will be looking forward to meeting you in Skaneateles!

Now for the BIG news!!!

The photos you will see are of the Division I team parents!!! I truly wish I could have gotten my camera turned on at the exact moment when they were announced the proud parents of 3rd place world champions!! This was such an exciting moment!! I can't wait to see the photos of how the kids reacted!!
They did an awesome job with their long term problem and they did even more amazing in spontaneous! I will make links to each of the teams scores when I get back home!
Congrats to such a great group of little kids and proud parents. It was such a joy to see you all succeed!!! Your skit was fantastic!! You should all be sooo proud!

Division team II presents their problem

Division II did a great job, they had a tough start when one of their team members who runs the vehicle, who normally runs the vehicle kneeling, started running it from standing, which messed up his aiming and until he took his hat off, from the sweat pouring from his head, and then realized that he was indeed standing, took the kneeling position...and from that moment forward hit all their tags perfectly! What was wonderful and got them alot of great marks and comments, was how they worked through it together! They very kindly and patiently kept each other all calm and reassured each other during the process...It was really great to see!
Although they did not place, they are all winners in our minds!! They placed 16th out of 53...Their personal goal was to place in the top 1/2 and they exceeded their goal, by getting into the top 1/3rd!!!
Great Job team!!!!! We are all very very proud of you! You impressed us all with your ability to help each other out and display such maturity in a stressful situation!
